I was born and raised in Osaka,Japan.
After graduating from the Department of Occupational Therapy at Hokkaido University, I was actively engaged in the rehabilitation of stroke survivors and patients with various kinds of injury for 5 years in Japan.
After moving to Toronto in 2010, I decided to pursue massage therapy to seek another path to aid people in their daily lives, and enrolled in the massage therapy diploma program at the Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy in 2014.
I combine massage therapy techniques with rehabilitative remedial exercises to provide effective treatment for people with both physical issues and those who are in need of relaxation.
My specialties are:
General injuries (Fracture, muscle strains/sprains,contusions, etc)
Aftereffects of motor vehicle accidents
Soft tissue dysfunctions related to Central/Peripheral Nervous System Disorders (Stroke, Brain injury, Parkinson's Disease, MS, Neuropathy,Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, etc)
Chronic neck, back, and shoulder pain
Pregnancy-related physical discomfort
My modalities are:
Deep Tissue Massage
Muscle Energy Techniques
Fascial Stretch Therapy (Level 1)
My Favourite Japanese Idiom:
"一期一会" (Ichi-go Ichi-e)
Meaning: "Each Moment Only Once," stressing the importance of valuing each encounter between people, and engage in the moment as if you will not be given the same opportunity never again . I keep this expression in my mind during each session, so that I can provide the greatest experience possible for my client.
